The Neighbourhood Spies

Below are two photos sent by different neighbours to my phone.  Where would I be without them?
Before I show the exciting developments of the house, I must stress that the community where we are building is like no other.

I receive at least 3 photos or messages / week from the neighbourhood spies (too many spies to count), possibly letting me know how many men are on site, what is happening, perhaps nothing is happening, what they saw as they went on their 7am jog.  Keep 'em coming!  This care and attention is really just the symptoms of the lovely community that we have.  Semi-regular dinners together, kids sharing sport and school drop offs, sensational Christmas street parties, shared tears, joy, the works. Friends.

So, joy from the photos can be gained as we dream about our new house but we are definitely luckier than most to be able to have our dream home in our dream community.

Last Thursday - the beginnings of the second level.

Today (Tuesday).  The front design of the house mimics the house two doors up from which a heritage overlay arose and existed on our old cottage.  We think our architects are a bit clever to use a contemporary approach to the same design.  Two kid bedrooms will be the front of the upstairs.
